The latest and good news for every passenger who loves to travel via train.The railway ministry issued an order which was in public on wednesday,22 (2023) that Indian railway will reduce fares of Ac 3 tier economy class tickets. Indian railways make travel easy and pocket friendly for their passengers who travel on a daily basis. If you travel in 3rd A/C Economy class then you have to pay less then 3rd A/C it has been withdrawal. As we know Economy AC3 coach is a cheap air conditioner rail service that is provided by indian railways services on a cheapest service.
According to Railway officials, Passengers who already book their tickets online and purchase from the ticket counter will get their refund back.
In September 2021 Indian railways while introducing 3 E class had announced the fares 3 E class coaches are 6-8 percent less than normal coaches.
Why are fares reduced?
- The main reason to reduce fares is that normal AC 3- tier coaches had 72 compartments while in AC 3- tier economy class have 80 with more space.
- According to data, it was found that from April 2022 to August 22 around 15 lakh people travelled in these coaches and also generated revenue of more than 117 crore.
- In the first year of introduction,Indian railways earn Rs 231 crore from AC -3 tier by this they decide to give a comfort zone to their passengers to make travel more affordable so they decide to lower the prices.
- The main concern for the reduction of prices taken by railways is for those who wanted to make train travel more pocket friendly.
This step is very beneficial for those passengers who mostly travel in AC 3 tier Economy class with this news. Passengers are happy and also people are more happy to get the refund who pre-book their tickets.
