Facebook is an online social media and social networking service owned by American technology giant Meta Platforms. Mark Zuckerberg co-founded Facebook account in 2004 with Harvard College students and roommates. The name Facebook was taken from the Facebook directories provided to American university students. Facebook was initially used only by Harvard College students, later gradually all US universities. since 2006 almost everyone over the age of 13 has started using it.
According to Google’s report, 2.96 billion means about 2,960,000,000 users are monthly active on Facebook account. Due to the high activity of users on Facebook, many hackers have started hacking and misusing Facebook accounts. Hackers hack a user’s Facebook account and upload some wrong posts or ask for money by messaging Facebook friends.
What to do if your Facebook account is hacked?
If some wrong activity is happening on your Facebook account. As if a post has been uploaded or messages are being sent automatically to your Facebook friends. understand that your Facebook account has been hacked. If the Facebook account gets hacked. then immediately follow all the steps given below and avoid anything untoward.
Report account hack to Facebook – If you are not able to login to your Facebook account. then you should first report the hack of Facebook account by going to Facebook Help Center from Google. Facebook will help you with the process of getting your account back to you.
Change the password of your Facebook account – After you have login to Facebook. you change the password by going to the privacy and setting of your Facebook account. Follow all the instructions of Facebook while changing the password. Put a strong and different password that you have never used before. and after changing the password, click on logout from all devices.
Check Facebook Account – You should be able to see your account’s posts and messages after login to your account. If any such post is uploaded, which has never been posted by you. delete all those posts and go to the messenger and see the message. Facebook friend has any message that you have never sent, delete those messages and Inform Facebook friends about message.
Check apps connected to Facebook – You can login to your Facebook account and go to Facebook Settings and click on Apps and websites. If you have any other app or any website link with your account, then remove them first. Open any app or website that was linked to the Facebook account and check all their activity.
What to do if you want your Facebook to never be hacked?
Use strong and unique Facebook account password: Your Facebook account password should be long, complex and unique. Password must also contain uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers and symbols. And if you have more than one account, never use the same password.
Enable Two-Factor Authentication: Keep two-factor authentication active on your Facebook account. If two-factor authentication is activated on your Facebook account, a confirmation code is required in addition to your password when you log in. This code is sent to your phone or mail.
